  66. CPIC SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION

  68. CPIC is the quickest and easiest-to-use multimedia manager/viewer utility
  69. you will ever use.  CPIC's intuitive user interface and rich features
  70. provide all the power you need.

  72. Features Include:

  74. VIEWING:  Viewing is simple - just double click on the file name/thumbnail
  75. with the left mouse button to view an image!  Click again to return to the
  76. file list.  To access a powerful set of editing features, just move the
  77. cursor to the top of the viewing area, and a menu bar appears, filled with
  78. editing features, enhancements, conversions and preference options.

  80. THUMBNAILS:  Unlike other programs, CPIC lets you choose between 2 sizes!
  81. Photodex has developed a sophisticated palette system for extremely high
  82. quality and lightning fast thumbnail creation.  Thumbnails are stored for
  83. later use in a data file for the fastest access available.

  85. PICTURE INDEXES:  Create thumbnail catalogs of any combination of files in a
  86. myriad of different styles and configurations.  Just set up the index with
  87. the WYSIWYG index preview, and click 'GO!'  Indexes can be printed to paper
  88. or stored to many graphics file formats.

  90. MAXISHOW:  Another 'first in the world' for CPIC.  Photodex presents
  91. 'Maxishow', the unbelievable multiple image slideshow!  Runs just like a
  92. traditional slideshow, but contains a configurable number of images per
  93. screen.  Supports sound and MIDI music files also.

  95. MULTITASKING:  CPIC creates thumbnails while you use it, so you never have
  96. to wait again!  Click on the handy thumbnail 'Create' button, and CPIC will
  97. instantly start creating thumbnails.  No status windows to wait for, no
  98. annoying delays, no headaches!  You can keep using your machine, viewing
  99. pictures, running slide-shows, etc. while CPIC is working.  Incomplete
  100. thumbnails are remembered, so when you enter CPIC again, they will be
  101. created automatically.

  103. INSTANT ZOOM/REAL-TIME PAN:  CPIC is the first graphics utility in the world
  104. to offer instant zooming with a real-time mouse pan at the touch of a key.
  105. Frame rates are based on processor speed, and can easily be in excess of 30
  106. updates per second (video speed!)

  108. CROPPING:  While viewing an image, CPIC allows the user to outline an area,
  109. optionally adjust the area, and then crop to the outlined area.  In
  110. addition, the 'auto-crop' feature instantly analyzes the image and suggests
  111. the best crop outline to use to remove unwanted borders and advertisements.

  113. ENHANCEMENT:  Control brightness, contrast, color saturation, hue, black
  114. point, white point, red gamma, green gamma, blue gamma, and negativity
  115. either through an easy-to-use pop-up toolbar, or through simple to remember
  116. function keys.

  118. SLIDESHOW:  Select files and click on the slideshow toolbar button.  Also
  119. plays videos, animations, sampled sound and MIDI music files automatically.
  120. Many options provided to control delays, sequencing and music playback.

  122. PRINTING:  CPIC supports all printers compatible with Windows.  Options for
  123. multiple copies and collation supported.

  134. Distribution Requirements
  135. -------------------------
  136. CPIC may be freely distributed, with the following restrictions:
  137.  
  138. 1.) Written permission from Photodex must be received to distribute
  139. CPIC on retail racks, CD-ROMs, or bundled with any other product.
  140. To get written permission, contact Photodex, briefly explain your
  141. situation and how CPIC relates to it.
  142.

  145. CD-ROM and other forms of distribution, but PLEASE contact us first!

  147. 2.) (BBSs) Please name the downloadable file CPIC<#>.EXE (where <#> is
  148. the current build number -- ie: CPIC273.EXE), and distribute only the
  149. original (self-extracting) file.  You are not allowed to distribute any
  150. installed CPIC files separately.

  152. 3.) The latest version of CPIC can always be found in any of the
  153. on-line areas listed in the README.TXT file.

  155. 4.) Disk Vendors, Shareware Distributors and BBS(s) may charge a nominal
  156. fee for distribution of CPIC. The recipient of CPIC must be informed, in
  157. advance, that the fee paid to acquire CPIC does not relieve the recipient
  158. from purchasing CPIC if the recipient continues to use the software.
